This Privacy Policy explains how ThreeDaysIn handles information when you browse our free editorial travel guides, use a map, save places in your browser, or send us a correction report.
1. Who we are
ThreeDaysIn is the name used for this website by [INSERT LEGAL NAME OR REGISTERED BUSINESS NAME], whose address is [INSERT POSTAL ADDRESS AND COUNTRY]. That person or organisation is the data controller for the processing described here. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact [INSERT PRIVACY CONTACT EMAIL]. Please replace these bracketed details before publication.
2. Information we handle
Information you send in a correction report
If you report inaccurate information or abuse, we receive the city and page URL, the report category, any place or section you identify, and the details you provide. Your email address is optional and is used only if we need to reply. Please do not include sensitive personal information in a report. The form also processes your IP address temporarily in server memory to limit abusive submissions.
Information stored in your browser
If you save places, their identifiers are stored in your browser's local storage so the saved list can be shown on that device. This list is not sent to our application servers. You can remove it by clearing this site's browser storage. Your analytics choice is also stored locally so we can remember whether you accepted or rejected optional analytics.
Analytics and technical information
Optional analytics are off unless you choose Accept analytics. If you accept, we use Google Analytics 4 and Vercel Web Analytics to understand visits and improve the site. Depending on the service and its configuration, analytics may include pages viewed, timestamps, referring pages, approximate location, browser, operating system, and device type. Google Analytics may use first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to distinguish browsers and sessions.
Vercel states that its Web Analytics uses no third-party cookies, uses a short-lived visitor hash, and discards that session identifier after 24 hours. The availability period for aggregated analytics reports depends on our Vercel account settings. Google Analytics event-level retention follows the retention setting configured for our Analytics property.
Maps and external websites
When a map is displayed, your browser may request map styles or tiles from OpenFreeMap and, in some cases, OpenStreetMap. Those services may receive technical request information such as your IP address, browser details, and the requested map tiles. Their own privacy policies apply to those requests. Our pages may also link to other third-party websites; opening a link takes you under that website's privacy practices.
3. Why we use information
- To operate, secure, and maintain the website and its maps.
- To review correction or abuse reports and respond when you provide an email address.
- To remember places you save and the analytics choice you make in your browser.
- With your consent, to measure site visits and understand how our guides are used.
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating and securing the site and reviewing reports, taking account of your rights and expectations. We rely on your consent for optional analytics where required. You can withdraw that consent at any time through Privacy settings.
4. Cookies and privacy settings
The site itself uses browser local storage for saved places and your analytics choice. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics may set analytics cookies, commonly including _ga and a property-specific_ga_* cookie. You can accept or reject optional analytics using the banner, and change your choice later using Privacy settings at the bottom of the page. If you reject analytics, the Google and Vercel analytics components are not loaded. If you withdraw a previous choice, we remove Google Analytics cookies that are accessible to this site. You can also manage or delete cookies in your browser settings.
5. Who receives information
We use service providers to run the site and the features you choose to use. These include Vercel for hosting and Vercel Web Analytics, Google for Google Analytics, and Resend to deliver correction reports to our editorial inbox. Map requests may go to OpenFreeMap or OpenStreetMap. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy information; they may process it in countries other than the one where you live. Their processing is governed by their published policies and, where relevant, the arrangements applicable to our accounts with them. We do not make correction reports public.

6. How long we keep information
We keep correction reports for as long as reasonably needed to review them, make any relevant correction, handle follow-up, and document the decision; we then delete or anonymise them unless a longer period is required to resolve a dispute or meet a legal obligation. Optional analytics data are retained according to the settings and reporting windows of the relevant Google or Vercel service. Browser-stored preferences and saved places remain until you change them or clear your browser storage.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have the right to request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, to restrict or object to certain processing, to receive data you provided in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To make a request, contact us using the privacy contact details in section 1. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. You can reject optional analytics at any time through Privacy settings.
8. Children
ThreeDaysIn is a general travel information website and is not directed to children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when the site, our providers, or applicable requirements change. The date at the top shows when the current version was last updated.
